BE THERE FOR YOU :)

BE THERE FOR YOU  I am no certified psychologist or therapist but still, I guess I have had enough situations in my life where you just have to stop obsessing over something and calm down. Here are my very personal tricks that I use to let go of any situation whether related to health, career, friendships, relationships etc. 1. ACCEPTANCE: It is what it is, you got to accept whatever the situation, the circumstances are. sometimes you just have to bow down to the problem and stop fighting for anything. Give up on the things which have started to consume you. 2. NO EXPECTATIONS: Just because you have put so much time, effort, and energy into something does not mean it will reciprocate the same. It is the harsh reality of this world, nobody is obliged to give you the same kind of efforts or returns. The soon you will give up on the expectations from others, soon your life will be happy and easy. You can’t expect from people who even lie to themselves. 3. PATIENCE IS THE KEY (sometime...

"Let’s celebrate all parts of ourselves"

"Let’s celebrate all parts of ourselves"

By: Shreya Sharma

I wonder how many times it happens that we question ourselves who we really are.  I don’t know about you guys but this happens to me all the time. I always wonder who I really am and what is the reason behind my existence? And most often we tend to search for the answer in the outside world. Trying to please people with things we actually can’t do or something we don’t enjoy doing, or being someone we are not.

The real question is why we need others’ approval? So, here are some ways which might help us to CELEBRATE OURSELVES.

·       Not asking for approvals

Why don’t we trust ourselves that whatever I am is enough for me?  Why do we always want another person to praise us for all the things we do. For example, if I am good at some skills why do I need other persons to praise to satisfy my ego? Why am I not the one clapping for me? Why am I waiting for other people to clap for me?

·       You are one of a kind

We, humans, are made with gallons of emotions, feelings, pride, and whatnot. But let us start celebrating ourselves before anyone else does it for us. Let us thank ourselves for our mistakes, for our flaws, for our beauty, or in a nutshell, I would say who we really are.  We often compare ourselves with people who are doing good in life and start questioning our worth: Am I not good enough? Do I lack some skills? And we start self-doubting ourselves. The most important thing we humans need to understand is they are they and you are you.

·       People around us

Many times we are surrounded by people who laugh at our long-term dream or who do not show confidence in our dreams. People who are not celebrating your small achievements and are not listening to your problems and just are concerned about themselves, we need to get rid of those kinds of people. You need people who help you overcome your insecurities, people who believe in you. By this, I don’t mean to be arrogant and not listening to anybody but staying away from people who are not good for your mental health. Be with people who want you to be the best version of yourself, not the ones who are suppressing your dreams for satisfying their ego. Believe me, you are worth more than that.

·       The sorrow game players

Many times when we are talking about the problems we are dealing with, most people start telling us about the problems they are facing. People need to understand, “who has got a bigger problem” is not a competition. Only share your problems with people who are ready to listen, not to compete. You yourself are facing many problems; you deserve the best people around. Because everyone needs a good listener.

·       Suppressing our feelings

We often tend to suppress how we feel, of course being vulnerable is liked by none of us and mostly we try to hide that vulnerable side of us from the world and sometimes even from ourselves. We try to stay strong or look even when we are not. Why do we do that? Why do we suppress our emotions? Why don’t we accept the way we feel? Because it is totally alright to feel the very moment we are in. If we feel proud in accepting our positivity then we must also learn to accept our feelings too, we should not force ourselves to not feel something, let yourself feel every part of yourself, be it happy, sad, moody, vulnerable, etc.

·       Embracing who I am

Why should I compare myself with something which is not meant for me, something I am miserable at? Why not embrace me for all the skill I have learned over time with my experiences or with mistakes. You don’t have to look, behave, achieve or talk like some other person; you have your own beautiful uniqueness.  Just look at yourself how amazingly beautiful you are, how much you have worked hard to get a seat in that college, or how hard you have tried to overcome that one negative comment  which was the reason for your sleepless nights, how much pain you suffered from the rejection you got after investing so much time and efforts into something, how strongly you were able to stand strong on your own two feet when something tragic happened in your life and all those battles you fight inside you, which are unspoken to the world but here you are smiling and I want to tell you I am so proud of you.

Take a YOU-TURN and COME HOME TO YOU.  We need to be celebrated for our uniqueness. First We have to accept who we are only then this world will accept us. Celebrate your life skills, flaws beauty.  Never ever doubt your dreams for someone else or don’t change yourself for the sake of another person, only change when you feel like changing from the bottom of your heart and the one thing I have learned is change is constant, we change every single day and all those changes are the reflection of all the things we learn about us, from the world, from our mistakes and experiences, again only change for a better you, the version you want yourself to be. Let’s accept we all have made major mistakes, but those eventually made us better today.  Don’t let society set standards for you, do it for yourself. You are your own driver, drive yourself to somewhere where you would be unapologetically you.
